How to beat golden freddy mode in five nights at freddy's

In Five Nights at Freddy’s, you take on the role of a night security guard with a most eery job. With limited power, you’ll need to survive the night without getting attacked by the animatronics that roam in free mode at night. They don’t take well to anyone not in an animal suit so you’ll need to closely monitor their locations with the limited power you have at your disposal. Surviving all five nights heavily depends on getting to know your four enemies and how they move. That being said, these are the tips, hints, and cheats we think you need to know to survive all five nights at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza!

1. Keep the doors open

How to beat golden freddy mode in five nights at freddy's

The doors are the largest waste of power in the entire game. Sure you could keep them closed at all times to ward off enemies but that’d defeat the purpose of the game. Not to mention, doing so will barely get you through an hour before you completely run out of power.

Instead, keep the doors open at all times until you actually hear a character approaching or see one in the doorway. Then slam them shut and leave them shut until they disappear.

2. Use lights sparingly and only under attack

How to beat golden freddy mode in five nights at freddy's

Five Nights at Freddy’s is immensely reliant on auditory cues. If you run around checking cameras and flipping on lights when you don’t need to, you’ll never have enough power to get through the night. Instead, when you think you hear something approaching, quickly tap the lights on and off to check the doorways.

On the right side door, you can sometimes see something approaching in the shadows before it gets to the doorway. This means you can bypass using the lights altogether and just shut the door.

3. Learn how all your enemies move

How to beat golden freddy mode in five nights at freddy's

Enemies move differently at Freddy’s. Learning early on how they move will get you further, faster. Here’s how I’ve found all four enemies to move throughout the night, with the exception of night five, where it appears all bets are off.

  • Chica – Purposefully and quickly towards the player, always appears in the right side door. If you see Chica on a right side camera approaching you, they’ll soon be in the doorway so prepare to close it!
  • Bonnie – Always appears in the left hand doorway but moves randomly in the cameras. Flick the left side light on and off is you feel Bonnie is moving, just to make sure they aren’t in the doorway already.
  • Foxy – Mainly stays in Pirate Cove in Camera 1C but doesn’t like to be watched often. When you hear running on the left side, Foxy is attacking. Slam down the left door. You may also sporadically see signs in camera 1C that say “IT’S ME!” and if you see this, immediately slam the left door down.
  • Freddy – Freddy is harder to predict and frequently makes cameras do dark. This is a good indication Freddy is lurking. Watching him seems to make him advance slower, so keep an eye on him and remember he typically moves throughout the whole camera circuit before attacking. But remember, he can break through doors, so slowing him down in the final hours of the night are key.

4. Watch for glowing eyes

How to beat golden freddy mode in five nights at freddy's

As previously stated, Freddy is hard to see on the cameras. One indicator that he’s in a specific room is if you see glowing eyes. There have been times I thought I was looking at a completely empty camera but caught a pair of glowing eyes, which happened to be Freddy.

Just be sure to keep an eye on Freddy as he moves through cameras as it’ll slow down his advance.

5. Headphones make audio cues much more obvious

How to beat golden freddy mode in five nights at freddy's

Five Nights at Freddy’s is chock full of auditory information. Being able to hear footsteps specifically approaching from the left or right separately is super important. And when you hear running or other sounds, you’ll quickly become acquainted with who is attacking at from where.

Through your iPhone or iPad’s built-in speakers, it’s sometimes impossible to decipher where a character is moving to, in turn making cameras harder to monitor. And as you can probably guess, that means you use more power. So in short, use headphones whenever possible.

6. Listen before looking

How to beat golden freddy mode in five nights at freddy's

Again, auditory cues are key. It’s also why headphones make a huge difference. You can hear the feedback coming from both left and right channels separately which tells you exactly what side you are facing an attack from. This makes it much easier to conserve power when you aren’t guessing what door to slam down.

7. Quick, short looks are key

How to beat golden freddy mode in five nights at freddy's

With the exception of when you’re tracking Freddy, short and quick looks are almost always best. You want to curb your power usage as much as possible for in most situations, you’ll be able to see where characters are at with short looks. Spend most of your time listening and only part of your time looking. I’d say an 80/20 rule would make a good guideline.

8. Don’t waste power until an animal makes the first move

How to beat golden freddy mode in five nights at freddy's

At the very beginning of the night, all the animals are located in camera 1A. Quickly take glances at them here and there in order to see when an animal makes their first move. In other words, when one disappears. That’s the point when you need to start checking the other cameras. Just be sure to also keep an eye on Foxy in Pirate’s Cover periodically. And more importantly, make sure you’re listening for attacks more than you are watching.

IGN has the tips and tricks, strategies, and secrets you need to succeed in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.

Balloon Boy- If you see balloon boy in your vent put your mask on right away. After putting your mask on when you hear thumping take it off and check the vent and Balloon Boy should be gone. If Balloon Boy does get into your room you wont be able to use your lights and as far as I know you cant get him to leave. Be very cautious and check your vent lights often if you see Balloon boy in your vent through the cameras.

New Bonnie- New Bonnie is fairly easy to deal with. When checking your vents if you see New Bonnie in your right vent, put on the mask. He will pass in front of you when you do so. When you see he’s not in front of you and the lights stop flickering, he’s gone and you can take off your mask.

New Chica- She is also easy to deal with. As with Bonnie, she appears in the vents (in this case, the left one). While clicking on the lights in your vents, if you happen to see her in your left vent, immediately put on your mask. She doesn’t go in front of you like Bonnie does, but she’ll leave the vents after a certain period of time. You’ll know she’s gone when you hear a thumping sound and her face isn’t in your left vent. She also appears in the hallway but doesn’t enter your office through there.

The Puppet (Marionette)- To keep The Marionette away make sure to go to the Prize Room Cam and wind up the music box every once and a while. If you see a small triangle with an exclamation point in the bottom right of the screen try to go wind the music box up as soon as you can.

Old Chica & Old Bonnie- Old Bonnie and Old Chica are similar in that you need to use the same strategy when they get into your office. When you see either Old Bonnie or old Chica Pop in front of your desk in your office put your mask on very quick and they should leave. Dont be fooled when they fake leave after staring at you for a bit because they hide behind your desk and in time you will get a jumpscare.

Old Freddy & Toy Freddy- These two act like Old Chica and Bonnie but instead they enter your office through the hallway. Just like those two, put on the mask when you see them sitting on your desk. They should go away if you time it right.

Foxy- Keep flashing your light on him and open your camera and he will go away. You however cannot stop Foxy’s attack if Balloon Boy enters your office (scroll up for details).

Mangle- Check your vents and the hallway. If she is in the hallway treat her like Foxy and keep flashing your light at her. If she is in the vents put your mask on and wait for that thumping noise to cue when she has left your vents. If she is on your ceiling, you will need luck on your side, because she can attack anytime after you put up and then lower your monitor. In the earlier nights, Mangle will take a few up-and-downs of the monitor to jumpscare you, but in the later nights she will most likely kill you after you put up and lower the monitor once. People reported to actually survive with Mangle hanging from their ceiling due to the fact that she attacks at randomly after the monitor is lowered.

Golden Freddy- He doesn’t appear until Night 6 or the custom night (night 7). He doesn’t appear in the cameras or vents. He, as a matter of fact, will randomly teleport into your room or into the hallway without warning. To fend off his attack: when you see Golden Freddy lying in the left corner of your office or you see his head in the hallway, put the mask on right away. After a little bit of having your mask on, you will see him teleport out of your room/the hallway.

Golden Freddy Appears

Golden Freddy is a special yellow version of Freddy. He can appear on nights 1, 3, and 5. To summon him, regularly check Camera 2B until the Freddy poster updates to display an image of Golden Freddy’s face. Now, exit your camera and you’ll see Golden Freddy in your room, waiting in a slouched pose. Look at him for a bit and he will kill you, which crashes the game.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 is a survival horror game from Scott Cawthon. In this game, you utilize sound and light to monitor your bedroom for encroaching animatronics that are out for blood. Gamezebo’s Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 Tips, Cheats and Strategies will help you stay awake and alive through the long, long night.

Play with headphones, in as quiet an area as possible

How to beat golden freddy mode in five nights at freddy's

Though previously-released Five Nights at Freddy’s games require you to monitor a video feed in order to track the movements of your foes, nearly every cue in Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 is audial. You can’t see the animatronics approaching you, therefore you must listen for them.

In other words, play Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 with a good pair of headphones, and in a quiet area if it’s at all possible. May we recommend you play in your darkened living room at 2 a.m.?

Use the early nights to get a good rhythm going

As you might expect from a FNAF game at this point in time, the animatronics become more aggressive as the nights progress. Use FNAF 4’s early nights to get a feel for how the animatronics move, and most importantly, to learn what they sound like when they’re standing in the shadow of your open doors.

If anything sounds out of the ordinary at all, shut the door!

How to beat golden freddy mode in five nights at freddy's

Never shine your flashlight down the hall immediately after running to the door. If an animatronic is standing nearby, they’ll jump at you as soon as you switch on your light. Instead, listen before turning on the light, preferably for a few seconds (which admittedly becomes harder to do as the animatronics become more active). If you hear something that’s not part of the game’s regular background noise, close the door. In fact, if you’re at all uncertain about a noise, close the door. It’s not a guaranteed save, but it might help you.

Check behind you on occasion

Though it’s easy to get lost in the rhythm of monitoring the doors, don’t forget to turn around and flick your light at the bed from time to time. Little Freddies like to converge there, and if too many of them pile up, Freddy Fazbear himself (or worse, the head of Nightmare Fredbear if it’s Night Five) will violently end your game.

Did the closet door just creak? Foxy’s in town

How to beat golden freddy mode in five nights at freddy's

Don’t worry about checking your closet until you hear the closet door creak and / or see it move. That’s when Foxy (or Nightmare Fredbear on Night Five) takes up residence. Once that happens, make the closet a regular part of your patrol, even though you’d probably rather not.

When you check the closet, get ready to shut the door immediately

More often than not, Foxy will jump out of the closet when you shine your light inside it. This won’t result in a game over provided you act quickly and shut the door on Foxy’s ugly muzzle as soon as he peeks out.

Nightmare Fredbear works alone on Night Five

Nightmare Fredbear stalks you exclusively on the fifth night, meaning he’s not accompanied by any other animatronics. He’s active enough to make up for his lost mates, however, and he acts a bit differently from the norm. Shining the light at him while he’s down the hall makes him come closer instead of retreating, so if you hear him approaching from either side (this is where decent headphones come in handy!), close the door.

He also appears in the closet and on your bed, lucky you, so monitor those areas as you would on a “normal” night.
