How do I setup and use my DIGITS?
Download the DIGITS app from the App Store or Google Play Store, and log in using your T-Mobile ID credentials. If you don’t have a T-Mobile ID, the app will allow you to create one. Just remember to use a voice line for creating the T-Mobile ID. Go through the setup process and decide on which line you would like to use in the DIGITS app.
If you don’t see one of the lines that you want to access, continue going through the setup procedure. Ensure that you have the right permissions to use the DIGITS line by going to Settings >> Advanced options >> Line permissions. You will see all the lines that you are permissioned to use and share. Click on the line that you want to access and share it with the T-Mobile ID that needs to use it, including your own. For more information, click here.
What if I need an additional number?
If you want additional DIGITS lines, you can purchase a DIGITS Talk & Text line for $10/month (with AutoPay).
If you want your smartwatch to use the same number as your primary phone, you can purchase Data with Paired DIGITS for your smartwatch for just $10/month (with AutoPay), or high-speed Data with Paired DIGITS for your paired smartphone for $20/month (with AutoPay).
How much does DIGITS cost?
Nothing! You don’t have to pay anything extra to access your existing T-Mobile voice lines in the DIGITS app – this is available for free to all T-Mobile customers! Just download the DIGITS app for Android, iOS, or desktop to access your T-Mobile number from any internet-connected phone, tablet, or computer. However, you can purchase special DIGITS line types, which you can learn about below.
How do I access and manage my DIGITS?
You can easily manage all your numbers in the T-Mobile DIGITS app on any connected device, even if the device is with another carrier. You can also access DIGITS from any Mac or PC browser by visiting https://webdigits.t-mobile.com on Chrome or Firefox, or download a standalone app. For additional support click here. To manage your DIGITS, including who can access them, just go to myDIGITS.t-mobile.com , or in the DIGITS app settings under Line Permissions.
Do I need a new phone to use DIGITS?
No. All you need is an internet-connect Android or iOS smartphone, tablet, or PC or Mac to use all of your DIGITS lines.
My mobile phone number already works on all my Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac). How is this different?
Continuity is restricted to the iOS ecosystem. DIGITS allow calls and texts to work on any device in which you have enabled your DIGITS lines, regardless of the operating system.
Can I use my new DIGITS number on a non- T-Mobile device?
Yes. Even if your Android or iOS device is with another carrier, you can make and take calls or send and receive texts using the T-Mobile DIGITS app. Once you’ve downloaded and logged into the app, you can turn on your DIGITS. If the device is not on the T-Mobile network, any data used will decrement from the phone plan with the other carrier.
Can I call or text 911 with DIGITS?
How have you made sure DIGITS is secure?
DIGITS calls and texts use the same leading level of security and encryption as traditional T-Mobile calls and texts.
I want to use my main phone number but switch between phones such as an iPhone and Android device without swapping my SIM. Can I do this?
Absolutely. There are two ways to do this depending on your needs.
If both devices already have their own phone number and data plan then you can access your primary number from either phone any time through the DIGITS app. Manage all your DIGITS right inside your DIGITS app in Settings >> Advanced Options >> Line permissions OR if you are on a desktop app then visit https://mydigits.t-mobile.com .
If you want each phone to simply share the same primary number and you don’t want to get high-speed data on the second device then you can pair your number with another device for just $10 a month using a Data with Paired DIGITS plan.
*Data with Paired DIGITS comes with unlimited data at 512 Kbps.
Can you have two phone numbers on one phone?
Yes, you can have up to 5 numbers on the same device.
With Apple having already introduced dual-SIM support since the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, asking can you have two phone numbers on one iPhone might seem like begging the obvious.
The short answer? Yes, you can. Having two numbers on one iPhone is as easy as getting two SIM cards in one iPhone. В The catch here is that back in 2018, all iPhone models came with one nano-SIM card slot and an embedded SIM (or e-SIM for short).
But having two SIM cards in one iPhone running iOS 13 with dual SIM can cause problems too.
Can you have two phone numbers on one iPhone without having two SIM cards in one iPhone? Before we go into the details, let’s take a look at some reasons why you’d want to have two numbers on one iPhone first.
Why you would want two numbers on one iPhone
Reason 1:  It’s a convenient way to keep your work and personal contacts separate
A big reason why lots of people are going for dual SIM cell phones nowadays is because it literally separates work from personal life. Having a separate phone just for work can be troublesome, especially if your job requires you to move around a lot.
With two numbers on one iPhone, you get the benefits of a separate phone for work without the inconvenience of having to carry around another cell phone.
Reason 2: You need a separate phone number for your business
Having customers make enquiries through your personal phone number can come across as unprofessional, and you’ll want to set aside a second phone number exclusively for your customers to contact you on.
There might also be times where you’ll want to advertise your services in online forums, marketplaces or social media. Rather than risk your mobile privacy and security by using your primary phone number, you can use a second phone number instead.
Reason 3: You are dating online and want to play it safe.
Just starting out and not sure if your date is yours truly or a crazy stalker? Stay safe by giving out a second phone number instead. This phone number can be temporary and anonymous, keeping you safe in case your perfect date takes a nasty turn.
There are many more reasons why you’d want two numbers on one iPhone (or even more), but ultimately, it’s about convenience, privacy and a peace of mind.
Can you have two phone numbers on one iPhone?
Solution 1: Just get two SIM cards on one iPhone
Simply getting two SIM cards in one iPhone is an obvious way to have two phone numbers on one iPhone, but as we said earlier there are some problems that make it more troublesome than it’s worth.
Because there are two SIM cards and you cannot toggle between them on the fly, you’ll need to keep going back and forth to check for calls and messages.
Then there’s the issue of accidentally mixing up work and personal contacts, Because iOS only saves contacts to your primary Apple ID, changing or editing contacts quickly isn’t possible.
Solution 2: Purchase a second line or multiple phone number service from your telco
Some major mobile carriers like T-mobile and Verizon В have their own second line plans for anyone looking to have two numbers on one iPhone.
In 2018, Verizon relased the My Numbers App on both the Google Play and Apple Store. This app allows you to add up to 4 additional phone numbers to your cell phone, with an additional 15 dollars a month per number. T-mobile launched a similar app called Digits way back in 2016 which allowed customers to use up to 5 phone numbers on their mobile device.
Some Mobile Virtual Network Operators, like Mast Mobile, also offer more seamlines dual phone number plans. Mast Mobile, for example, allows you to switch between two cell phone lines without having to swap SIM cards or forward calls.
Solution 3: Use a VoIP provider like WhatsApp or Telegram
Most of us are already familiar with WhatsApp and Telegram. Both of them are Voice-over-Internet-Protocol В (VoIP) providers that allow you to send messages and make calls via the internet instead of phone lines.
Technically speaking, using a VoIP provider to make calls and send messages isn’t the same thing as having two numbers on one iPhone. With VoIP providers, you’re relying on cellular data and wifi calling instead of regular phone lines. But both get the job done.
The biggest problem with VoIP providers is online privacy and security. Because they rely on the internet rather than phone lines to transmit communication, anything you send or receive through a VoIP provider poses a bigger privacy and security risk to you.
WhatsApp is certainly no stranger to privacy scandals. While Telegram sports its’ proprietary algorithm, there are doubts over whether it’s truly as secure as they say it is.
BEST Solution: Get as many phone numbers as you like with Phoner.
Nobody’s comfortable with software glitches, wonky apps and privacy scares. Instead of waiting for Apple to finally fix the issue with a software patch or take a chance with shady VoIP providers, we recommend getting two phone numbers on your iPhone and more with Phoner.
Get a second phone number on your iPhone with Phoner
Whether you plan to rely on the iPhone’s dual Sim feature, VoIP providers or second phone line plans from your mobile carrier, you’ll only have a limited number of phone numbers.  With Phoner however, you have access to unlimited phone numbers you can use immediately without needing to get a second SIM card.
Phoner also reliably sends and receives calls and messages. It acts and works just like your regular phone number, so you can still use your numbers without mobile data or a WiFi connection.

With Phoner, simply get credits, get as many phone numbers as you like or need, and get started making calls and sending messages without cellular data or WiFi calling.
So that’s our answer to the question: Can you have two phone numbers on one iPhone? Move aside two SIM cards in one iPhone – all you need is Phoner.
One number to ring them all

For some people, it’s important to have multiple phones ring on a single incoming call. This means that when a certain phone number is called, several devices ring at once instead of only one. This article explains how to ring multiple phones with one number using your mobile carrier, Google Voice, Phonebooth, or other voice calling apps.
Some mobile carriers allow you to use your number with multiple devices. With these services, you can forward incoming calls automatically to all your devices, including your phone, smartwatch, or tablet.
AT&T NumberSync lets you use a compatible device to answer your calls even if your phone is off or not with you. Two similar devices include DIGITS from T-Mobile and Verizon One Talk.
The same feature may be enabled on iOS devices like the iPhone and iPad. As long as the person is calling you over FaceTime, or you have hardware that meets continuity system requirements for the iPhone cellular calls feature, you can answer the call on your other iOS devices, including your Mac.
The free Google Voice service has revolutionized the “one number to ring them all” idea.
Google Voice (available for Android and iOS) offers a free phone number that rings multiple phones simultaneously, along with a package of other features, including voicemail, voice-to-text transcription, call recording, conferencing, special call-handling rules for both individual and groups of contacts, and visual voicemail.
Phonebooth is a serious alternative to Google Voice and is full of features. However, it costs money.
When you register for one user, you get two phone lines. It gives you a number in your area and lets you receive 200 minutes of calls. It also offers voice-to-text transcription, an auto attendant, and a click-to-call widget.
The Phonebooth service has a solid VoIP background behind it and offers competitive calling rates, comparable to other VoIP players on the market.
Install a Voice Calling App
Some apps give you your own phone number while others aren’t technically phones (because there isn’t a number) but do let you accept calls from multiple devices, including phones, tablets, and computers.
For example, these iOS apps that can make free calls can make and accept calls from other users of the apps, but because the programs are compatible with multiple platforms, you can get your phone calls to ring on all devices at once.
As an example, you can install the FreedomPop app to get a free phone number that comes with the ability to call any landline or mobile phone in the U.S. Sign in to your account on your tablet and phone to have calls go to both devices.
These types of apps don’t let you forward your “main” phone number to other devices.
Why Would You Ring Two Phones With the Same Number?
Maybe you want your home phone, office phone, and mobile phone to ring at the same time. This makes you less likely to miss important calls. The setup also lets you choose where to talk based on the nature of the call.
Traditionally, this type of situation calls for a PBX configuration, which is expensive both as a service and in terms of equipment. The huge investment is a deterrent that explains why it’s a fairly rare setup.
With one number, you can configure a series of devices to ring whenever there’s an incoming call. We’re not talking about having one line with different branches and phone terminals but, instead, several independent devices ringing, and the freedom to choose which one to answer.
You can hold up to four numbers on a single phone for $15 per additional line.

If you’re a Verizon customer and having only one phone number isn’t cutting it for you, there’s a new solution available.
Known as My Numbers, Verizon’s new service plan lets you add up to four numbers to a single phone. Consolidating multiple numbers into a single device is useful if you travel often, have a work phone, or own a business that has its own number.
Each new line costs $15 a month and you’ll get unlimited domestic calling and texting.
Other carriers offer similar services. In 2016, T-Mobile launched Digits , which allowed one device to carry multiple phone numbers. It also let you apply one number to many devices, though at that time AT&T and Verizon provided that capability as well.
In a similar but not entirely identical vein, phones like the latest Palm “phone,” which has limited features, uses Verizon’s Messages+ app to forward your number and reroute incoming calls and texts from your regular phone to the Palm device. It essentially allows your number to work on two phones. The minimalist Light phone also does this with phones from other carriers like AT&T.
pricing will be key.
T-Mobile earlier today made good on its promise to introduce a feature in which customers can use just one phone number across all of their connected devices. It’s called Digits (not to be confused with Twitter’s Digits service) and here’s everything you need to know.
AT&T late last year announced a service called NumberSync that lets customers link their primary mobile number to all of their connected devices. T-Mobile Digits does the same but more importantly, it also allows multiple T-Mobile numbers to be used on a single device.
For example, you could use your personal smartphone to receive both work and personal calls, thus eliminating the need to haul around (and pay for) two devices. Each number carries its own voicemail and texts as well and when you call or text someone, it’ll show up on their end as you. It essentially eliminates the need for smartphones that support dual SIM cards.
It’s unclear if there’s a way to have only one device “ring” instead of having all of your linked devices ring at once. That would be ideal at certain times but not always.
Ever been in a situation where someone asks for your number but you really don’t want them to have your main number? With Digits, you can simply give them an alternate number that’s not your primary number.
T-Mobile says Digits prioritizes calls from your phone over other data so calls are more reliable with crystal clear HD voice quality and full mobility. This, the company says, is because Digits is your real wireless number with real wireless calling – not a “best-efforts” data connection like you’d get with over-the-top Internet calling services.
One shortcoming that has been identified is the fact that Digits lacks iMessage compatibility. As such, iPhone owners will need to disable iMessage and instead rely on standard texting, T-Mobile COO Mike Sievert tells PCMag.
The new service is available starting today (albeit in beta status) for postpaid customers. Interested parties will need to be running at least Android 5.0 or iOS 9 on their mobile device or Firefox or Chrome on their Mac or PC. The functionality is already baked into newer Samsung phones like the Note 5 and Galaxy S6 and will eventually be built natively into other devices.
Until then, T-Mobile says users can grab the Digits app from the App Store or Google Play. Interestingly enough, you can even use Digits on devices from other carriers like AT&T, Sprint or Verizon.
T-Mobile plans to launch Digits commercially early next year at which time it’ll begin charging for the option. How much, you ask? Well, T-Mobile isn’t saying right now short of noting that it’ll be cheaper than adding a new line to an account.
How To Merge Your Mobile Devices and Stop Carrying 2 Phones
Two is better than one for many things in life, but with smartphones having two can be a hassle. Lots of people have to juggle with using both a work-issued phone and a personal cell phone. There is a solution – you can merge your mobile devices and sync your apps. Here are some tips to get on top of the multi-phone dilemma.
Forward Your Calls
Do you use one (or both) of your phones purely because you need it to answer calls? There’s an easy way to fix this so you only have to carry one. Almost all cell phones have a call forwarding feature, so you can send calls to another phone. Here’s how to set it up on an Android phone (different versions of Android may vary). Go to Phone app > Call settings > Additional settings > Call forwarding. You then have the option to set up your phone to send calls to your second phone. You just need to enter the phone number. If necessary, it’s easy enough to turn it off, or if required, reverse it, to send calls from phone #2 to phone #1.
Using Multiple Accounts on One Phone
If you didn’t know this – it’s possible to set up multiple accounts on the same phone. To avoid carrying two phones you can add your work account to your personal phone, or vice versa. If you’re doing this you’ll need to check that your company security protocols allow you to do this, in the interests of keeping work data safe. If you go this route then take care when setting it up, so that calendar and email accounts aren’t mixed up.
Use the Cloud to Sync Your Apps
No matter what combination of multiple devices is complicating your life, the cloud can be the answer, because you can sync your apps. It might be two phones, or one phone and a PC or tablet. To streamline your device usage then there are lots of apps that you can sync using the cloud. They include Dropbox, Office 365, Google Drive, iCloud, and more. That way your data is always accessible from whichever device you have to hand.
If you merge your mobile devices you can make your digital life a whole lot easier. If you’re not having to carry several devices around with you then it’s easier to keep track of them, so that they don’t get lost and the chances of them being stolen are reduced. Again – always remember that care is required to make sure sensitive data can’t be leaked and you’re in compliance with your workplace security policies.

Both carriers are working on features that will let you use the number associated with your smartphone to get calls and texts on devices like smartwatches and tablets.

T-Mobile and Sprint, the No. 3 and No. 4 wireless carriers in the US, each confirmed Thursday they are working on features that will let customers use the phone number associated with their smartphones to receive phone calls and text messages on other connected devices, such as smartwatches and tablets.
AT&T was the first major carrier to announce it will offer this functionality. The carrier this week said its feature, called NumberSync , will launch in the holiday season.
Wireless carriers are adding this ability as more tablets, wearables and other gadgets are being equipped with their own cellular radios. This allows them to use a cellular network to make calls or connect to the Internet without being tethered to a smartphone. For consumers, the features will simplify the management of multiple devices on the same wireless account. As mobile penetration in the US approaches 100 percent, wireless carriers are banking on consumers adding additional devices to their monthly data plans in order to drive growth.
Customers with devices that have these features enabled will likely be able to leave their phones at home and still get calls and text messages on a smartwatch, tablet or connected car. Previously, consumers had to pair devices to their phone using Bluetooth, which typically has a range of 30 feet, if they wanted to use the same number. AT&T’s NumberSync, for example, doesn’t require your phone to be nearby or even turned on to get calls and text messages on a connected device.
Details of exactly how the features will work haven’t been made public. T-Mobile hinted that its service will go beyond what AT&T has described.
The service T-Mobile is working on will make AT&T’s offering “look small,” said Mike Sievert, T-Mobile’s chief operating officer, in an interview with news site Recode. A spokesman for the company declined to offer further details.
Sprint is “exploring offering a service that would allow a customer’s smartphone, tablet and other devices to share a single phone number,” the company said in a statement. Sprint added that it will “provide additional details at a later time.”
Verizon, the nation’s largest wireless provider, has not said whether it will offer a similar feature. Verizon did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
An amazing new feature from EE will revolutionise the way you make calls and send texts
- 10:44, 11 Jun 2018
- Updated : 10:52, 11 Jun 2018
MOBILE network EE has announced a new “smart number” scheme that lets you use the same phone number across multiple devices.
It means you can make and receive calls across your tablets, smartwatches and laptops using the same phone number – even if you don’t have your phone with you.
Normally if you want to make phone calls on a tablet, you’d need a SIM card with its own unique phone number installed.
But EE has made it possible for customers (at no extra cost) to share a single phone number across multiple devices.
That means you’ll be able to make phone calls on your smartphone and tablet at the same time, from the exact same phone number.
Better still, you don’t even need your smartphone with you for the scheme to work.
You’ll be able to use an iPad, for instance, to receive calls and messages when you’re out and about, while leaving your handset at home to charge.
And if your smartphone dies, you could turn to a tablet or smartwatch to chat with friends – which could be a major boon for festivals or camping trips.
EE has also added hand-off technology to the “smart number” system.
This lets you hand off a phone call from your iPad to your iPhone with the press of a button. So if you need to leave the house, you can quickly switch call devices and carry on your chat uninterrupted.
How to set up EE smart number
Just follow these simple steps.
- Check that your iPhone and all the other devices that you want to set up EE smart number technology on are signed into and using the same iCloud account with Facetime
- Go to Phone in your iPhone settings
- Select Calls on other devices
- If the service isn’t already on, toggle All calls on other devices to on
- Then select Add Wi-Fi Calling from other devices to choose which devices you want to also use
- You will then get notifications on your other devices to tell you to turn it on by entering the code that pops up on your screen
- If you have an Apple Watch, you will need to turn on Wi-Fi Calling in the settings
“We’ve made it our mission to give our customers amazing new technologies that make the most of our award-winning network to help keep them connected, wherever they go and whatever they want to do,” said EE’s Max Taylor.
“Our new smart number technology is a great example of how we’re helping customers to seamlessly connect their favourite devices – whether on laptops, tablets or smartwatches, even if they’re away from their smartphone.”
This is by far the easiest way to have the same WhatsApp number running simultaneously on two smartphones. Yes, we will show you how you can simultaneously use the same WhatsApp number on two (or more) smartphones and the procedure does not need WhatsApp web.
Running two WhatsApp numbers on a single device was almost impossible till there came a few apps that can help you achieve it. Similarly, running the same WhatsApp number on two devices was a tad difficult till WhatsApp Web showed up. However, WhatsApp Web was only meant for desktop users and you needed to keep the smartphone connected to the internet in order to use the web version.
WhatsApp Web can also be used on tablets and smartphones and this needs you to install an internet browser app that can simulate desktop mode. Best use is to get FireFox app and you can use WhatsApp on your smartphone or tablet along with your original smartphone with the primary app. However, WhatsApp Web still requires you to keep the primary smartphone with the main WhatsApp number to be connected to the internet as it routes all data via the smartphone. But a simple trick, we stumbled into last week, can replicate the same WhatsApp number on two or several deferent smartphones and can also be used simultaneously.
Caution: The method could be used for eavesdropping on another person’s WhatsApp. Messages that come on one phone will also be seen on the other phone. Also you will be able to see all the messages and conversations that have previously taken place on both the smartphones. Make sure you handover your smartphone to another person only if you trust them completely with regards to your personal data. The trick also allows users to tap into every possible account on the other smartphone without the need of any password. The user is automatically logged on. It is as good as duplicating another smartphone.
The trick is to replicate the entire WhatsApp data from one phone to another. Using a rooted smartphone, you can use Titanium Backup to do the same. But the trick we will show you can be done on non-rooted smartphones. Even a layman without any knowledge of how smartphone data works can actually get it done in less than 5 minutes. All he needs is access to the victim’s smartphone for a few minutes.
Watch the video below that shows you the same WhatsApp number being used on two different smartphones at the same time. The phone on the extreme left is the new phone, the middle is the victim’s phone and the right is another phone with a different WhatsApp number.
Note: This trick presently works only on Xiaomi smartphones and one does not need to hack or tweak any smartphone with any extra third-party apps. The app to get this needful done already exists on all Xiaomi smartphones. Please use this information as an educational information only.

The first time a friend or family member asks if they can borrow your phone or tablet, you probably just hand it over without a second thought. But the second, third, and fourth times? Now it’s starting to become a habit, and something probably needs to be done about it.
Luckily, though, Android now has a built-in feature that allows you to set up multiple user accounts, which means you can set up a secondary user profile that shares absolutely no data with your own. It’s a great way to maintain your privacy while allowing someone else to access your device, and I’ll show you how to set it up below.
User Profiles & Android Versions
Before we begin, it should be noted that this feature is not available on some versions of Android. If you’re using a tablet, the user accounts feature became available starting with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. For users with smartphones, however, you’ll need to be running Android 5.0 Lollipop or higher.
In addition to those stipulations, some manufacturers may have disabled the user accounts feature on their Android devices—even if they meet the minimum Android version requirement. But at the very least, the vast majority of devices running Android 5.0 or higher can take advantage of this feature.
Creating a New User
To get things started, fully expand your notification tray by swiping down from the top edge of your screen using two fingers. From here, tap the small, circular icon in the top-right corner.
Next, you can choose the “Guest” account to let someone use your phone without being able to access any of your data, but if you plan on letting this person use your phone more than once, it would be best to choose “Add user” here so that they can log in with their Google account.
Once you’ve done that, you’ll see a popup informing you about the specifics of adding a user. Press “OK” on this message, then you’ll be greeted by the new user’s lock screen. This is different than your own lock screen as it can have its own wallpaper, which is an easy way to tell which user is currently active.
From here, have you friend or family member unlock the device, then they’ll be greeted by the new user setup screen. Have them select “Continue” here, then press “Next,” and follow the prompts to sign in with their own Google account.
When setup is done, your friend or family member will be able to use your device as if it were their own. Data from both user accounts is kept separate, so your privacy is maintained.
Switching Between User Accounts
When it comes time to switch back to your own account, fully expand the notification tray again and tap the user icon in the top-right corner. From here, simply select your account, then you’ll be greeted by your own lock screen, where you can log in and access your personal data again.
Letting Secondary Users Make Phone Calls & Send SMS
By default, secondary users cannot make phone calls or send SMS messages. If you’d like to change that, make sure you’re logged in with the primary user account (your own). From there, head to the “Users” menu in Settings, then tap the gear icon next to the secondary user’s name. Finally, enable the “Turn on phone calls & SMS” feature, then you’ll be all set.
Who’s using the secondary user account on your device—your spouse, your kid, or your friend? Let us know in the comment section below, or drop us a line on Android Hacks’ Facebook or Twitter, or on Gadget Hacks’ Facebook, Google+, or Twitter.

My sisters and I all have iPhones under the same account. I also have an iPad under the same account. I am trying to get the iMessage on my iPad compatible with my phone number, not email address.
The only phone number choice to choose from is my sister’s iPhone number. How can I choose my phone number for iMessage on my iPad?
4 Answers 4
The only way to get a phone number associated with iMessage is for that phone number to be provisioned to an iPhone and have SMS messages active from the carrier. At that point, you can sign in to iMessage with your Apple ID / iCloud account and it will verify the phone number is actually connected to that device and your AppleID will then inherit that phone number.
At that point, you can remove that phone number from that iPhone and use another Apple ID with iMessage. With dual sim / esim you might even get both numbers active on one iOS device.
So, unless you can borrow an iPhone long enough to get your carrier to provide 5 minutes of service to an iPhone – long enough to register, you will be stuck with an email address for iMessage.
By this process, you could have more than one phone number associated with one Apple ID. You cannot however get one phone number associated with more than one Apple ID as the last ID to get registered with iMessage removes that number from any other Apple ID that used to “claim” that number as deliverable.
After receiving my Project Fi welcome kit last week, I put aside my Moto G to test Google’s triple-network service on a Nexus 6. So far, it’s working well except for one annoying problem: I effectively have two phones, each with its own phone number.
Forwarding calls between my primary number and the one I’m using for Project Fi isn’t the issue. It’s generally easy to have calls forwarded from one number to another. Text messages? That’s a different story: Over the past week, I’ve missed a number of important texts and confused my contacts who have seen messages from my unfamiliar Project Fi phone number.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could forward and interact with text messages on a second phone without anyone being the wiser?
I dug around in the Google Play Store and it turns out there are several apps that let you mirror messages between two phones, even allowing you to send responses back using a single number.
For now, I’m using an app called FreeForward to do just that. And I’m glad I did, else I would have missed this important text from my son yesterday; his car eventually broke down last night.
To get setup for mirroring messages, you first need to install FreeForward on both your primary and secondary Android phone.
In the app, choose one to be the phone that forwards messages to the other; this is your primary handset number that everyone is familiar with.
To link the two phones for message forwarding, FreeForward provides a code and password on the primary phone. Enter that information on the second phone and the process is complete.

When a text message arrives on the main phone, it will appear on the second one via a data connection, showing both the message and contact information. (Note: It still appears on the primary phone in your default messaging app.)
Within FreeForward, you have several options, such as copying the phone number or message to your device clipboard, calling the contact or sending an SMS via linked device. Using this option sends a reply from your main phone number and your recipient has no idea that you’ve sent it from a different device or phone number.
Are there downsides? Yes, but for me the pros outweigh the cons.
The FreeForward interface isn’t the most glamorous, for one thing, but it gets the job done. And second, the app doesn’t support MMS, so you can’t send attachments or images with it. Lastly, your primary device needs to be turned on at all times so it can receive and then forward your messages.
If you can live with those limitations and need to consolidate messages from two phones to one, FreeForward is worth the look.
Several workarounds, like duplicating apps via your custom ROM or an app from the Google Play Store or using WhatsApp Business can allow you to use multiple WhatsApp numbers on the same device
Whether you’ve a dual-SIM card smartphone or live two lives—using two WhatsApp numbers on the same phone can be very convenient. But WhatsApp doesn’t allow users to access two WhatsApp numbers simultaneously on a single device. WhatsApp even discourages users to swap between devices too often, without actually citing a reason on their official blog.
However, there are several workarounds, on the Play Store as well as by custom ROMS, to use multiple WhatsApp numbers on a single device. Here are the three main ways you can do it:
Custom ROM workarounds
Custom UIs from, mostly from Chinese smartphone makers, like Asus, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, Huawei, Honor and Samsung allow you to either duplicate apps or create an entirely new user account (like you would on a Mac or Windows system).
Oppo and Vivo have Clone Apps and App Clones features respectively that let you duplicate apps, while Xiaomi has Dual Apps, Samsung has Dual Messenger, Asus has Twin Apps and Huawei/Honor have App Twin features. All you have to do is get in the settings menu, look out for these features and select WhatsApp from the list of applications. Then all you have to do is feed in your WhatsApp number and follow the standard process.
Xiaomi also has “Second Space” which essentially creates a new user account, which mimics the experience of having two smartphones in a single device. You have to start building the second account from scratch—from wallpapers to app permissions, everything has to be set all over again. You can also have one app running on one account and not on the other or you can have the same app running on both accounts but with different IDs—the choice is yours.
Apps on Play Store
For those phones that do not allow any of this sneaky business, like the Android One devices, there are apps on the Play Store like Double App and Parallel that allow you to duplicate an app. The process is similar to the one with custom ROM workarounds.
This works well for those people who have a business and wish to communicate with their consumers effectively, but also allows you to use a second phone number. Setting up your phone number with WhatsApp Business is more or less similar to the regular WhatsApp, but due to the nature of the app you have additional features like automated responses, sending out updates and adding labels to your contact lists.
And multiple numbers on the same device — but no iMessage

Share All sharing options for: T-Mobile announces Digits: one phone number for all your devices
T-Mobile just revealed its answer to AT&T’s NumberSync technology, which lets customers use one phone number across all their connected devices. T-Mobile’s version is called Digits and it will launch in a limited, opt-in customer beta beginning today before rolling out to everyone early next year.
“You can make and take calls and texts on whatever device is most convenient,” the company said in its press release. “Just log in and, bam, your call history, messages and even voicemail are all there. And it’s always your same number, so when you call or text from another device, it shows up as you.” When it leaves beta, Digits will cost an extra monthly fee, but T-Mobile isn’t revealing pricing today. “This is not going to be treated as adding another line to your account,” said COO Mike Sievert. “Expect us to be disruptive here.”
And while its main feature is one number for everything, Digits does offer T-Mobile customers another big perk: multiple numbers on the same device. This will let you swap between personal and work numbers without having to maintain separate lines and accounts. You can also give out an “extra set” of Digits in situations where you might be hesitant to give someone your primary number; this temporary number forwards to your devices like any other call. You can have multiple numbers for whatever purposes you want, based on T-Mobile’s promotional video.
In some ways, this sounds like an evolved take on Google Voice. “Businesses can give their employees Digits to use on their personal smartphones — even if those phones are on AT&T, Verizon and Sprint,” T-Mobile says. And a single Digits number can also be set up to ring multiple people at once. Like Google Voice. Some account relationship with T-Mobile will be required to use Digits on other carriers.
But on a conference call with press, Sievert claimed — as you’d expect — that T-Mobile has worked up a superior option compared to Apple’s Continuity, AT&T NumberSync (which “tacks on” to Continuity’s ideas) and Google Voice. T-Mobile claims it’s been working on the new feature for years.
T-Mobile’s engineers built an entirely new IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) service management layer and Identity Management solution. Instead of authenticating devices through SIM cards, DIGITS gives customers their own identity. When someone calls you, they reach you regardless of the device you have in your hand.
“This solution will work across pretty much anything. I’d almost go so far as to say any consumer electronics device,” said CTO Neville Ray. “There are no constraints as there are with these other systems.” He said T-Mobile holds “seven patents and counting” on the backend of Digits. “Nobody is coming up with as pure and as integrated and as simple as a solution for the customer to manage.” When The Verge asked about security and spoofing risks, Ray confidently stated that Digits numbers carry the same security precautions as any other T-Mobile line.
There’s one big, big problem though: Digits doesn’t currently work with iMessage. T-Mobile is encouraging beta participants to turn off Apple’s massively popular messaging platform for the smoothest experience, which might dissuade some people from trying it out in the first place and become a hurdle for adoption.
If you are interested in trying Digits, you’ll need a postpaid T-Mobile account. The beta will be compatible with devices running Android 5.0 and above, iOS 9 and above, and Chrome and Firefox on the desktop. Support for Digits is already built into the dialer on recent Samsung phones (Galaxy S6/S7, Note 5).

About two-step verification
What two-step verification is
Two-step verification helps protect you by making it more difficult for someone else to sign in to your Microsoft account. It uses two different forms of identity: your password, and a contact method (also known as security info). Even if someone else finds your password, they’ll be stopped if they don’t have access to your security info. This is also why it’s important to use different passwords for all your accounts.
Important: If you turn on two-step verification, you will always need two forms of identification. This means that if you forget your password, you need two contact methods. Or if you lose your contact method, your password alone won’t get you back into your account—and it can take you 30 days to regain access. You may even lose access to the account. For that reason, we strongly recommend you have three pieces of security info associated with your account, just in case.
What happens when you turn on two-step verification
If you turn on two-step verification, you’ll get a security code to your email, phone, or authenticator app every time you sign in on a device that isn’t trusted. When two-step verification is turned off, you will only have to verify your identity with security codes periodically, when there might be a risk to your account security.
What you’ll need for set up
Two-step verification begins with an email address (we recommend two different email addresses, the one you normally use, and one as a backup just in case), a phone number, or an authenticator app. When you sign in on a new device or from a new location, we’ll send you a security code to enter on the sign-in page. For more info about the authenticator app, see How to use the Microsoft Authenticator app.
Turn two-step verification on or off
Go to the Security basics page and sign in with your Microsoft account.
Select More security options.
Under Two-step verification, choose Set up two-step verification to turn it on, or choose Turn off two-step verification to turn it off.
Follow the instructions.
Note: As part of setting up this account, you’ll be given a QR code to scan with your device; this is one way we ensure you are in physical possession of the device you are installing the Authenticator app to.
Reset your password when two-step verification is turned on
If you forget your password when you have two-step verification turned on for your account, you can reset your password as long as we have two ways to contact you, like one of the alternate contact email addresses or phone numbers that you used when you turned on two-step verification.
Depending on what security info you have added to your account, this requirement might mean entering a security code from your authenticator app and entering a security code that was emailed to your backup email account.
To reset your password, follow the steps in How to reset your Microsoft account password. Instead of receiving one security code to verify your identity, though, you’ll receive two.
If you’re looking for info about changing, removing, or updating the alternate email address or phone number where you get security codes, follow the steps in either Security info & verification codes or Replace your Microsoft account security info.
Where you can’t use security codes, use app passwords
Some apps (like the mail apps on some phones) or devices (like the Xbox 360) can’t use regular security codes. If you see an “incorrect password” error on an app or device after you turn on two-step verification, but you’re sure your password was correct, that means you’ll need an app password for that app or device.
App passwords are only available if you use two-step verification. If you don’t have two-step verification turned on, you won’t see the App passwords section on the Additional security options page.
Read about how to create and use app passwords in App passwords and two-step verification.

Your device’s serial number is a unique code that the manufacturer gives the phone. No two serial numbers are the same. Should you need to find your phone’s, there are a few places you can look.
A serial number is usually a combination of letter and numbers. There’s no set length— the manufacturer determines that. The serial number will usually be denoted by an “S/N:” on the box, as you’ll see below. As with all things Android, the path to your serial number may have different routes, but this guide should give you a general idea of where to look.
Option One: On Your Device’s Retail Packaging
Often, the box your device came in will carry the serial number. It’s usually located on the outside of the box on a sticker that also contains several bar codes, your device’s IMEI number, etc. It’ll either be on the back or the side of the box.
Option Two: Under Your Device’s Battery
These days, most Android devices come with non-removable batteries. But if you have a device with a removable battery, you will often be able to find the serial number printed underneath.
Option Three: In Your Device’s System Settings
To find your device’s serial number in the software, go to Settings > System.
Then jump into About Phone > Status.
Your device’s serial number will generally be located toward the bottom of this screen.
If you don’t see your device’s serial number here, you may need to poke around in the About Phone section a bit more—it may be in a slightly different place depending on the manufacturer. Gotta love Android.
What is the Serial Number Used For and Should It Stay Private?
Your serial number is generally used by the manufacturer to track device inventory—mainly for things like repairs and warranty claims. Since it’s usually printed on the outside of the box, you can infer it’s not terribly important that it stays completely private. However, there are certain situations where sharing a serial number can cause you grief down the road. For example, if you share your serial number and someone uses it to file a false warranty repair on a device, you may suddenly find yourself with a phone that is out of warranty.
OEM’s generally recommend against making your device’s serial number public—it is unique to your device after all, and there’s no reason to share it. So no tweeting, please.

How many times have you seen a Facebook post from a friend asking for numbers because they got a new phone and lost their contacts? Here’s how you can completely avoid new phone, who dis?—regardless of whether you use Android or iOS (or both).
The Two Main Options: iCloud and Google
If you use Android devices and Google services, this is simple: just use Google Contacts. It’s integrated into everything Google, and works like a charm. This is also ideal if you use a mix of Android and iOS devices, since Google Contacts can sync with pretty much any platform.
If, however, you use exclusively Apple devices, you have a choice: use Apple’s iCloud, or use Google Contacts. iCloud is designed to work seamlessly with iOS devices, and if you use iCloud or Apple’s Mail app everywhere for your email, it’s the obvious choice. but if you have an iPhone and/or iPad and use Gmail on the web for your email, it may still be a good idea to use Google Contacts—that way, your contacts are synced between your phones, tablets, and your web-based email.
Got all that? Alright, here’s how to sync your contacts with either service.
How to Sync your Contacts with iCloud on the iPhone
To sync your contacts with iCloud, head into the Settings menu on your iPhone, then head to Accounts & Passwords.
Open the iCloud menu, then make sure Contacts is toggled to on. (If you don’t have an iCloud account, you’ll have to tap “Add Account” first—but most users will probably already have an iCloud account set up.)
That’s all there is to it. If you log into iCloud on your other devices and repeat the same process, your contacts should always stay in sync.
How to Sync your Contacts with Google Contacts on Android
Depending on the version of Android you’re using, syncing contacts may work a little differently, so we’ll break it down as simply as possible.
Regardless of what phone you’re using, give the notification shade a tug, then tap the cog icon to jump into Settings. From here, things are slightly different.
From there, it varies a bit from version to version:
- Android Oreo: Go to Users & Accounts > [Your Google Account] > Account Sync > Enabled Contacts
- Android Nougat: Go to Accounts > Google > [Your Google Account] > Enable Contacts
- Samsung Galaxy Phones: Go to Cloud and Accounts > Accounts > Google > [Your Google Account] > Enable Contacts
From now on, when you add a contact on your phone, it will automatically sync with your Google account and all future phones you log in to.
How to Sync your Contacts with Google Contacts on the iPhone
If you’re an iOS user who spends any time in Google’s cloud (or have a mixed selection of devices), then you can also sync your Google contacts with your iPhone.
First, head into the Settings menu, then choose Accounts and Passwords.
Tap the Add New Account option, then Google.
Sign in with your Google account, then toggle the Contacts option to On. Tap Save when you’re finished.
How to Move Your Contacts from Google to iCloud
If you’ve decided to move away from Google Contacts and are now all about that iCloud life, getting contacts from one service to another isn’t actually as easy as it should be. One would assume that if you have both your iCloud and Gmail accounts set to sync contacts on your iPhone that the two will stay in sync with each other, but that’s not how it works. At all.
In fact, I incorrectly assumed for months that my Google contacts were also syncing to iCloud…until I actually checked my iCloud contacts. Turns out, no.
If you want to move your Google contacts over to iCloud, you’ll have to do it manually from your computer. It’s the easiest way.
First, log in to your Google Contacts account on the web. If you’re using the new Contacts Preview, you’ll need to switch to the old version before proceeding.
From there, tap the More button at the top, then choose Export.
On the Export screen, choose vCard, then click the Export button. Save the file.
Now log in to your iCloud account and choose Contacts.
Click the little cog icon in the bottom left corner, then select Import vCard. Choose the vCard you just downloaded from Google.
Give it a few minutes to import, a poof—all your Google contacts are now in iCloud.
How to Move Your Contacts from iCloud to Google
If you’re moving from an iPhone to an Android device, you’ll need to also move your contacts from iCloud to Google. You’ll want to do so using a computer, because it’s much eaiser.
First, log in to your iCloud account on the web, then click on Contacts.
From there, click the cog icon in the bottom left corner, then choose Export vCard. Save the file.
Click the More button, then Import. Note: The old version of Google Contacts looks different, but the functionality is still the same.
Choose CSV or vCard file, then select the vCard you downloaded. Give it a few minutes to import and you’re good to go.
No more new phone, who dis for you.
You can set up your mobile device to act as your two-factor verification method. Your mobile phone can either receive a text message with a verification code or a phone call.
Note: If the authentication phone option is greyed out, it’s possible that your organization doesn’t allow you to use a phone number or text message for verification. In this case, you’ll need to select another method or contact your administrator for assistance.
Set up your mobile device to use a text message as your verification method
On the Additional security verification page, select Authentication phone from the Step 1: How should we contact you area, select your country or region from the drop-down list, and then type your mobile device phone number.
Select Send me a code by text message from the Method area, and then select Next.
Type the verification code from the text message sent from Microsoft into the Step 2: We’ve sent a text message to your phone area, and then select Verify.
From the Step 3: Keep using your existing applications area, copy the provided app password and paste it somewhere safe.
Note: For information about how to use the app password with your older apps, see Manage app passwords. You only need to use app passwords if you’re continuing to use older apps that don’t support two-factor verification.
Set up your mobile device to receive a phone call
On the Additional security verification page, select Authentication phone from the Step 1: How should we contact you area, select your country or region from the drop-down list, and then type your mobile device phone number.
Select Call me from the Method area, and then select Next.
You’ll receive a phone call from Microsoft, asking you press the hashtag (#) sign on your mobile device to verify your identity.
From the Step 3: Keep using your existing applications area, copy the provided app password and paste it somewhere safe.
Note: For information about how to use the app password with your older apps, see Manage app passwords. You only need to use app passwords if you’re continuing to use older apps that don’t support two-factor verification.

With approximately 2 billion active users per month, WhatsApp is considered one of the most used worldwide messenger applications. It has recently got an update that now allows users to use the same account on more than one device.
Android users had to download a third-party application like Whatscan Pro, which provided the convenience to use WhatsApp on multiple devices. The new scan feature eliminates the need to rely on additional applications and enables the use of WhatsApp with a single account on browser or desktop. The multi-device beta feature is currently accessible to individuals utilizing the most recent variant of WhatsApp on Android or iPhone. All you need to do is keep your system and WhatsApp version updated.
With an easy to scan QR code for WhatsApp web, you can conveniently use your account on your browser or desktop. WhatsApp claims to maintain end-to-end encryption for all the accounts set up on different devices, hence your information is kept private.

One of the advantages of Apple’s iMessage system is the ability to see and respond to iPhone texts across multiple Apple devices. AppleInsider shows you how to set up the feature and get messaging on your iPad, Mac and more.
Go into the Settings app on your iPhone, then scroll down until you find Messages. Assuming iMessage is on — which it presumably will be — the next step is to go into Text Message Forwarding.
Here you should see compatible devices signed into the same Apple ID, and you can toggle them on and off at will. This includes Macs and iPads, which of course don’t normally handle SMS messages.
Next, go back up a level in Messages, then select Send & Receive. Be sure to set your phone number as both an origin and destination, rather than just an email address. You may have to add an email address to “You can be reached by iMessage at” in order to see “Start new conversations from” appear.
If you have an iPad, find the same Send & Receive menu within the Settings app, and make sure the information matches what was selected on your iPhone.
Mac owners should launch the Messages app itself, open up Preferences, and hit the Accounts tab. As long as you’re signed into the proper Apple ID, the only thing needed here is to once again make sure origins and destinations are the same as above.
Be warned that while you might like the idea of receiving texts across multiple devices, there are potential problems.
On a basic level, if all of your devices are in the same room or house, several simultaneous notifications can create a cacophony. You might also prefer answering on a specific device, and/or want others to be distraction-free. Then there’s the matter of privacy, since an iPad sitting on the couch might expose an otherwise private iPhone conversation.
My iPhone does not have the text forwarding described for Messages in Settings. I have iOS 11.0.3. Why is that?
I use iCloud’s aliases to sort out which specific device gets and sends what. Use only a specific email alias per device, and add it to my address book with the device name.
I have setup forwarding so that my iPhone will receive most of the texts/messages/chats/calls/FaceTimes/etc, as well as the specific device it was send to, except for my better-half’s, that is.
BTW, I have been an iTools/.Mac/MobileMe/iCloud user since the beginning, and have created several aliases back then, which it seems that you cannot create as many anymore now.
I don’t see Text Message Forwarding in Settings->Messages either. I have an iPhone 6. Is Text Message Forwarding only available on later iPhones or is it a carrier thing? (I have At&T).
It could be the particular model of iPhone you have. Mine is a 5s and it doesn’t have that Text Message Forwarding option, nor the Show Contact Photos option show directly above it.
I don’t have this either. Running the latest Beta of IOS 11.1 that was released yesterday.
If you are looking for an answer to this question, then the first thing that you should know is that there are some risks involved. The simplest way to explain it would be if someone else has your sim card and they want to use it on their phone, then they can access all of your information from your phone like text messages, photos and contacts. If you put the other person’s sim card into your own device then it will not work because phones don’t allow two different numbers on one account.
There may also be a charge for trying out another carrier as well so make sure before going through with any changes! As always, if you have any questions about what we talked about please feel free to contact us at Customer Service.

Can You Just Switch SIM Cards Between Phones?
Yes. If you have two devices, the SIM card can be switched between them.
Will I Lose My Photos If I Put My SIM Card In Another Phone?
Will I lose my photos if I put my SIM card in another phone? This is a common question and luckily for you, the answer is no. However, there are some risks involved that we should go over first.
Can I Use The Same SIM Card On Two Different Phones?
Some phones will allow the use of a single SIM card with two different numbers. This is because phone providers are becoming less restrictive about letting customers use their service on multiple devices. However, there may be certain restrictions for this as well such as if both numbers are under contract or not and some carriers will require that you pay more money to have the same number active on another device. Still, it’s worth checking into first!
What Happens If You Swap Sim Cards?
When you use a different SIM card on your phone, the default settings will now be incorrect. There are two ways to fix this issue:
Update Settings on new device/SIM Card – Update settings with an old carrier from within app or website (with account login).
Forget Network and Connections – Forget network connection and then re-establish the connection. This is usually done through an option available if you go into “Settings” of your phone’s main menu by tapping the three horizontal lines at the top left corner of the screen
The second method should also work for any other devices that have been using the same SIM card before it was swapped out so make sure all connected devices update their connections accordingly!
If I Put My Sim Card In Another Phone Will It Save My Contacts?
If you put the SIM card in another phone, it will not save your contacts when you move the SIM. You would need to manually copy and paste them from one device or account to another before transferring the number over if that is what you are looking for.
-In order to transfer a phone’s contact list with an old carrier on new equipment go into Settings of main menu by tapping three horizontal lines at top left corner of screen and select “Update settings with this provider”
-Forget Network Connection then reestablish connection through an option available if entering Setting (usually found under first tab) in Menu – This should also work for any other devices using the same SIM so make sure all connected devices update their connections accordingly!

Calls and texts from your cellular-enabled smart watch over the Telstra mobile network count towards your mobile plan’s monthly allowance.
So if your combined usage on your phone and cellular-enabled smart watch goes over your plan’s allowance, you’ll be charged for the additional usage in accordance with your mobile plan’s call or text rates.
Data used on your cellular-enabled smart watch counts towards your mobile plan’s monthly data allowance. We’ll automatically top you up with extra data at $10 per 1GB if you go over your plan’s monthly allowance.
Can I make a call from my Telstra One Number device and mobile phone at the same time?
Yes, you can but making calls in this manner requires both devices to have a mobile network connection; it can’t be done using a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection.
What if I have a cellular-enabled smart watch but don’t want to sign up for a Telstra One Number?
You can still pair your cellular-enabled smart watch to your phone via Bluetooth, without subscribing to Telstra One Number. You only need a Telstra One Number if you want to connect your two devices on our mobile network so you can make and receive calls, and send and receive messages on your cellular-enabled smart watch.
What’s the difference between pairing and subscribing?
Pairing means establishing a Bluetooth connection between your cellular-enabled smart watch and phone. When paired, the cellular-enabled smart watch is entirely dependent on the phone to receive calls, texts and data.
Subscribing to the Telstra One Number lets you connect both devices to our mobile network. This allows the cellular-enabled smart watch to receive calls, texts and data independently of the phone.
What should I do if I lose my cellular-enabled smart watch and/or phone?
If your cellular-enabled smart watch or phone is lost or stolen, you can help stop unauthorised access to your account by contacting us to block your phone.
How do I cancel my Telstra One Number?
You can cancel your Telstra One Number subscription anytime via the My Telstra app, or My Telstra in a browser. Alternatively, contact us between 8am and 9pm AEST or visit your nearest Telstra store.
If you cancel your subscription part way through a month, you’ll only be charged up to the date of cancellation. Once cancelled, your device will no longer be able to access our mobile network.
- You can block a specific number on your Android phone using the Phone or Messages app.
- You can also block unknown numbers if you’re tired of receiving spam calls from bots and telemarketers.
- When you block someone, they won’t get a notification or know for sure that you’ve blocked them.
You don’t need to put up with the annoyance of regularly receiving unwanted phone calls.
If you frequently get a call from the same telemarketer or another unwanted caller, you can block that call.
Once you do, any blocked number that calls you on your Android phone will be sent directly to voicemail. Furthermore, the person who’s number you’ve blocked won’t get notified that you’ve done so, and there’s no way for them to find out for sure.
How to block a number on Android
While the steps to block a call can vary depending on the device brand and version of Android, in most cases, you can block calls through the Phone app or Messages app.
How to block a number on Android using the Phone app
To block a number or contact on your Android phone, navigate to the Phone app’s settings and tap the Blocked numbers option.
Here’s a full step-by-step breakdown:
1. Open the Phone app.
2. While on the Dial or Call Logs tab, tap the More Options menu, represented by the three vertical dots on the top-right of the app.
3. Choose Call Settings from the drop-down menu.
4. Tap Call blocking & Decline with message in the call settings.
5. Tap Blocked numbers.
6. Tap the plus sign on the top right to add the number you wish to block.
7. On the pop-up that shows, tap New Number. You can also choose to block a number from your contacts list or call logs on the same pop-up.
8. Manually enter the phone number you want to block calls and texts from then press “Block.”
Quick tip: If you can’t remember the exact number you want to block, you can copy the number from your recent calls list by pressing down on the number until a menu appears, and then selecting Copy number.
How to block a number on Android using the Messages app
You can also block a number using the Messages app by following the below steps:
1. Open the Messages app.
2. Tap the three vertical dots on the top right corner.
3. Select Settings from the list of options on the drop down.
4. Tap Message blocking in the settings.
5. Tap Blocked numbers.
6. Tap the plus sign on the top right to add the number you wish to block.
7. On the pop-up that shows, tap New Number.
8. Manually enter the phone number you want to block calls and texts from then press Block.
How to block unknown numbers on Android
To use the steps above, you’ll have to be able to enter the number in the Phone or Messages app.
However, this will not work if the number is unknown. So if you’re tired of getting spam calls from unknown numbers, Android provides different ways of blocking them all at once.
Have you received an unexpected notification on your Apple device saying that your Apple ID and phone number are now being used for iMessage and FaceTime on a new Mac, iPhone or iPad?
If the answer is yes, there’s no need to panic. The message doesn’t necessarily mean anything malicious has happened to your Apple account. In fact, in the vast majority cases, there’s a simple explanation for it. Keep reading to learn more.
Why Have I Received This Message?
Whenever you set up a new Apple device, you will be asked to sign into it using your Apple ID. Your Apple ID is the account you use to sign in to all Apple services like iCloud, the iTunes Store, and the App Store. You can have multiple devices signed into the same Apple ID. This ensures that your iCloud user data, app downloads, and media purchases can sync between them.
If you set up a new Apple device, erase and re-install the operating system on a device you already own and then sign back into your Apple ID, or simply sign out of iMessage or FaceTime on a device, any other devices signed in to the same Apple ID should throw up the following popup notification on the screen: “Your Apple ID and phone number are now being used for iMessage/FaceTime on a new [iPhone/iPad/Mac]. If you recently signed into [device name] you can ignore this notification.”
But I Didn’t Do Any of Those Things Recently!
Even if you haven’t done anything recently to warrant the pop-up message and you don’t recognize the default name of the device (“iPhone,” for example), it doesn’t necessarily mean anything untoward has occurred. Sometimes it takes a while for Apple to update your Apple ID device list in its Activation Servers.
On other occasions, the message will pop up if you turn on a device that hasn’t been connected to the internet for a while, especially if you logged in to iMessage or FaceTime during the period that it was disconnected. The message can also occur if the device has been relying on a poor Wi-Fi connection.
In these cases, the message is simply a delayed notification and not a sign of a compromised Apple ID. However, if you’re suspicious because the name of the device that signed into your Apple ID is not a default name and you don’t recognize it, you can investigate the cause by checking your Apple ID device list with Apple. The following steps show you how.
How to Check Your Apple ID Device List
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app.
- Tap your Apple ID banner at the top of the menu.
- Scroll down, then tap any device name to view that device’s information, such as the device model, serial number, OS version, and whether the device is trusted and can be used to receive Apple ID verification codes.
You can also view this list on a Mac by clicking the Apple menu () in the menu bar, selecting System Preferences. , and clicking Apple ID.
If you see anything untoward or suspicious – a device linked to your Apple ID that you don’t recognize, for example – then your account may be compromised. You should remove the device from your account using the red option at the bottom of the screen for that device. After you’ve done that, follow the steps below to secure your account.
How to Gain Control of Your Apple ID
- Sign in to your Apple ID account page using Apple’s Apple ID website. If you can’t sign in or you receive a message that the account is locked when you try to sign in, try to reset or change your password.
In 2021, the number of mobile devices operating worldwide stood at almost 15 billion, up from just over 14 billion in the previous year. The number of mobile devices is expected to reach 18.22 billion by 2025, an increase of 4.2 billion devices compared to 2020 levels.
Moving forward with 5G
As the number of devices grows, so does our dependence on them to fulfill daily functions and activities. The use cases for mobile devices increasingly demand faster connection speeds and lower latency. The 5G network will be critical to fulfilling those demands, operating at significantly faster rates than 4G. In North America, for example, it is expected that there will be 218 million 5G connections, up from just ten million in 2020. This means around 48 percent of all mobile connections in North America. Globally, this figure should reach 20.1 percent by 2025.
6G: looking beyond 5G
While 5G has entered commercialization and is already creating new opportunities, researchers and engineers are already experimenting with 6G. Not only will the number of mobile devices continue to grow but cellular internet-of-things (IoT) devices are set to permeate more industrial sectors in the coming years, meaning a solution will eventually be required for network congestion and data transfer speeds.
6G ought to be capable of solving those problems before they arise, potentially enabling a network connection density ten times greater than that of 5G, and peak data rates up to fifty times faster than the rate of 5G. The Federal Communications Commission in the United States has opened spectrum for experimentation, and China have already launched what is described as a 6G satellite, so that actual potential of 6G should be revealed over the coming decade.

You may already be using Microsoft Teams on your computer to remotely join meetings and collaborate on projects with colleagues. But Teams is also available as a mobile app if you ever need to use it on the go. Available for iPhones, iPads, and Android devices, the Teams app lets you set up or join a video or audio call, chat with people, and share files.
If you don’t already have the Teams app for your phone or tablet, download it from Apple’s App Store for an iPhone or iPad, or from Google Play for an Android device. The iOS/iPadOS and Android versions have the same basic functionality, though there are some minor layout differences. Assuming you already have an account and access to Teams, either through your organization or individually, sign into the app.
How to chat on Microsoft Teams on your mobile device
One task you’ll likely want to perform is to chat with an individual team member. Tap the Chat icon on the bottom toolbar and then type the name or email address of the person with whom you want to chat. Select the person’s name and type your message. You can then carry on a back-and-forth conversation. Using the bottom toolbar under the message field, you can attach an image, GIF, or document. You can reference someone’s name and change the font style or color. Tap the ellipsis icon and you can attach content from different services, such as YouTube (Figure A).
With the desktop Teams app, you can add multiple people to a chat and then save those people in a group. You can’t do that with the mobile app, so you’ll have to add each person individually to a chat to converse with them all.
How to call via Teams on your mobile device
Next, you can place a call to one or more members, either via audio or video. On an iPhone or iPad, tap the Calls icon at the bottom. On an Android device, tap the More icon and then select Calls. If the person you wish to call already appears in recent calls, tap the name. Otherwise, tap the phone icon in the left pane and type the name of the person you want to call. Tap the phone icon to place an audio-only call or the camera icon to place a video call (Figure B).
During a video or audio call, tap the screen. From the toolbar, you can enable or disable the video, microphone, or speaker. Tap the ellipsis icon, and you can put the call on hold, transfer it to someone else, share the call, and access the dialpad. For a video call, you can also blur the background (Figure C).
How to schedule a meeting in Teams on your mobile device
To schedule a meeting, tap the Meetings icon. Tap the icon to Create a meeting. Name your meeting and set the start and end times. To invite participants, tap the entry to Share meeting invite or Copy meeting link and then send the meeting invitation to the appropriate people. To start the meeting, tap the Join icon and then tap the Join Now button (Figure D).
How to share files in Teams on your mobile device
Next, you can upload and share files with the team. On an iPhone or iPad, tap the Files icon at the bottom and then tap Add and then Files. From here, you can access the built-in Files app to browse different cloud-based services, such as OneDrive, Box, Dropbox, and Google Drive. Browse to the service you want and select the file you wish to upload. On an Android device, tap the More icon, select Files, and then drill down to the file service you wish to use (Figure E).
There’s more you can do with the Teams mobile app, such as checking your recent activity. Though the mobile app doesn’t offer the full functionality of the desktop app, you should find it a handy resource when you’re out and about.

It’s entirely natural that you have a long list of contacts on your Android phone. You have contacts from work, family, friends, acquaintances, etc. Having all those different types of contacts can turn into a real mess if you don’t organize them properly. Here are some ways to better organize your contacts on your Android phone.

How to See Only Specific Contacts
You can easily organize your contacts by using the Contacts app. This is a great option if you’re running low on storage and can’t install any more apps.
Open the Contacts app and tap on the menu on the top right.
Tap on the “Customize view” option and choose what type of contacts you want.
If you have more than one Google account and want to view contacts from those accounts, tap on the logo of the first letter of your account’s name displayed on the top-right of the screen. Then you can add and manage your other Google accounts and view those contacts.
You can also view contacts from all the apps you’ve installed on your phone that have contacts integration. To manage those contacts, tap on the hamburger menu located at the top left in the Contacts app.
After selecting Settings, you will be sent to the Settings menu, where you need to select the Accounts option.
Here you can view and manage all the apps installed on your phone with contacts integration.

How to Merge Duplicate Contacts
A reason your contact list is so long is that you may have one friend with various entries. For example, one entry could be their current email address, and old email address, etc.
To merge all the entries you have of the same person, open the Contacts app and tap on the hamburger menu located at the top left and select the “Merge and fix” option.
Here you can see all duplicate contacts on your phone. If there are any, you can merge them one by one or merge all at once by simply tapping on “Merge” or “Merge all” options.

Organize Your Contacts by First or Last Name (Surname)
There’s really no right or wrong way to have your contacts displayed. They can either appear by their first or last name (surname), and that’s something you can easily do in the stock Contacts app.
Just like the other organizing methods, go to Settings, and under the Display section, you’ll see the “Sort by” option. Tap on it, and a small pop-up window will let you choose to organize by first or last name.
Even though you might have John Smith under “J,” you’ll see the last name (Surname) first, despite it being under your “J” contacts. You can also choose Name format, but all that does is add a comma and places the name either by first name and then the last or vice versa.
Organize Your Contacts into Labels
You want to call a co-worker, but first you have to find the contact in the sea of contacts you have. You might only have five contacts that are from work on your phone, so it would be a lot easier if you had them in a separate Label.
You can do that by opening the Contacts app and tapping on the hamburger menu located at the top left. If you created any Labels, you should see them there.
If not, tap on the “Create label” option. Give your Label a name and start adding members.
Now that you have neatly organized your contacts in Android, the next thing you can do is hide calls and texts from specific contacts in your phonebook.
