Although the company is very fast-paced and it was challenging to complete all of my duties, I gained valuable experience, learned how to manage my time and how to organize work to maximize efficiency.

Ongoing Considerations

In the two months with Good Ventures, I feel I was able to learn as much as I could. However, I would like to learn more about the real estate market, including how to price new builds and how to discuss mortgage services for first-time buyers.

This internship experience was important in building my business administration skills. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to get practical experience.

            Management is a process made up of planning, organizing, coordinating, orienting and supervising the activities of people to reach the foundation aim of the enterprise.

            Planning is to determine and arrange what to do, how to do, when to do and with whom to do.

            Organizing is to set an organization in accordance with the aims established in planning process and the ways determined to reach these.

            Orientation is activating the operation of the organization by using organizational communication, motivation level of the wage earners and leadership attributes.

            Coordination is to combine the efforts of the wage earners, arrange the time, provide the activities to be successive in order to reach the common goal and interpenetrate them to integrate each other.

            Supervision is to confirm what is implemented in business administration functions, how it is implemented and to what extent it is implemented.

            Once you have accepted an internship offer, you must submit an experience request through Handshake to receive credit. Here are the steps to report:

            • Log into Handshake at utdallas.joinhandshake.com using your NetID and Password
            • From the top menu bar select Career Center > Experiences > Request an Experience
            • Choose the appropriate Experience Type and the Term in which your internship will be taking place
            • Fill out the remainder of the request form paying close attention to all questions
            • Once you have finished the request form and clicked submit, you MUST upload your detailed job description, offer letter with all required information and any other documentation required by your academic department. To do this, click the New Attachment button on the left side of your screen and choose the appropriate documents

            Once you have submitted your experience request and all required documentation, please allow 7-10 business days for your experience to be approved by the University Career Center, your academic department, and ISSO if necessary. During the approval process you may be contacted if additional information or changes are needed. You will be notified once the experience has been successfully approved.
